Hat whether is officially upon us with the arrival of fall! There are several styles that I always tend to gravitate towards. A hat can change an outfit just as much as changing the shoes you are wearing.
The felt fedora style hat is easily my favorite for fall, hands down; I mean, I have it in several different colors. 🙂 To me, it ties together an outfit and can completely change one. I tend to wear hats like this with bulkier sweaters or long sleeves. Recently, I styled this hat different as you saw in this post. I like to branch out of my comfort zone and try new styles. After all, that is why I started a blog – to share affordable fashion and challenge myself to style the pieces in my closet differently.
The wide, flat brim hat is very popular right now but I just cannot seem to get into it. I just feel that it is not my style and is more for the people that gravitate towards the boho style. Not every style is a good fit for every one. You need to learn what works and does not work for you.
Baseball hats are a new venture for me. I never really wore them until last year when I had to buy one for soccer season. You can see that one in this post. Two years ago I was getting really bad headaches after coaching soccer games in the direct sun. I did have sunglasses on but I felt myself still squinting., which resulted in really bad headaches by the time I got home. So before the start of the season last year, I bought an adidas one to go with our uniforms. I have not looked back ever since. Naturally I had to buy one for my favorite hockey team, the NY Rangers. 🙂
Baseball hats are great to throw on when you are running out the door, you’re not having a good hair day, or you just do not want to do your hair. They are especially great for when you are spending the day out doors in athleisure wear!
My last favorite style is naturally the slouchy beanie. I have several, ok – a lot. 🙂 I wear beanies all the time during the winter and the slouchy style is my favorite. Love Your Melon is my favorite brand for multiple reasons, but the main one being their cause. They provide hats to child that have cancer. How can you not get behind a cause like that? Slouchy beanies are just perfect for keeping your head warm, that’s really the main reason why I love them. I mean, I do live in New Jersey where it gets so damn cold in the winter and the wind is a killer!
Other hat styles that are big this fall season are the beret and the baker boy style hat. I tried on a beret and I did like the way it looked; however, I knew I would honestly never wear it. I decided it could stay in the store rather than sitting on my closet shelf unused.
Do you guys have favorite styles? Favorite brands? I’d love to know. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
