I love watching old movies and seeing how glamorous the actresses were. The makeup, the hair, and the dresses. I love the whole aura old school glamour. This outfit reminds me of that.
I have loved pleated skirts, as you can see from this post, and was so excited when I saw them in Rachel Parcell’s collection. She is a blogger who I have been following for sometime and I have fallen in love with her clothing line. There is just something about a pleated skirt that says elegance and glamour.
I decided to pair this pleated skirt with two other vintage pieces from my great aunt’s closet. Her pieces have been seen here and here. Pairing the blouse, my great-aunt’s, with the skirt and a red lip creates the old school glamour vibe.
To top the look off, my mom found this vintage bag just before I was about to shoot this outfit! The beading detail on this bag is remarkable and wish I shot a close-up of it. I have seen pictures of my grandmothers, my great-aunts, the old Hollywood actresses with small handbags with gorgeous bead work; you can imagine my excitement when my mom showed me this incredible find!
I decided to add a modern edge with my Rockstuds heels and it creates the perfect balance. The studs sparkle just right adding a tiny bit of flair. I could not help twirling around while shooting this outfit!
This is one of my favorite outfits. Any excuse for me to get dressed up and I’m happy.
Thanks for stopping by!
