I wrote my first blog post on clean beauty about two months ago and today I wanted to give you an update on what products I have added to my skin care routine. Plus, how I am loving my gradual switch to clean beauty products.
If you read my first post about my switch to clean beauty, you make remember that I had said I started with the moisturizer. At first I was only using it during the day while I applied my other moisturizer at night until I finished. Now, I use the moisturizer both day and night. I love how it makes my skin feel so soft. One of the main attributes of this product is that it provides 24 hours of hydration. For those of you that have dry skin in the winter, like myself, this product has helped my skin immensely.
At the end of my first post, I had listed nine different products that I wanted to start incorporating into my routine. I have added three from the list and then three that were not on the list. The first one on the list was the above cleanser. I use it every day and love that it has a “light lather” meaning it doesn’t get bubbly or foamy – it’s also free of sulfates, another plus. My skin feels smoother and clean after I use it. I have been using this product, combined with the moisturizer for about a month now and I can see a difference in my skin. It is not nearly has dry as it usually gets in the winter and this is the smoothest my skin has ever been.
Both of these products were on the list of products that I had wanted to try in my first post. I absolutely love the Instant Eye Makeup Remover. I love it so much I went on Instagram stories and spoke about it which is something I never do because I’m super shy on Instagram Stories (something I am trying to work on). You guys, this is legit the best eye makeup remover I have used. I have tried so many different ones from MaryKay to Estee Lauder to L’oreal to the Neutrogena version. This one, hands down, is the best one out there (I know I said that already but I could not mean it more). After a few wipes, your eye make-up is off! In the pictures below, I tried showing you the difference between my two eyes – one has makeup on and the other does not. I know it is hard to tell because I do not wear a lot of eye makeup and I’m also not used to taking beauty shots. But, I hope you can see the difference and how well this product works.
I have also noticed a huge difference in my skin around my eyes after I use the remover. When I used other products to remove my makeup, I used to get all these small, red bumps around my eyes. I could not understand what was causing this because after I removed my makeup, I was always washing my face. Now, I am not getting any of those bumps anymore. There was definitely something in those products that was irritating my skin and leaving bumps that would last a few days sometimes.
I also bought the makeup remover wipes for when I wear a full face of makeup. These makeup remover wipes are right up there with the Neutrogena ones. They get the job done and your face feels refreshed afterwards. I am going to be perfectly honest with you, because that is the whole point of my blog, I have only used this product a handful of times due to the fact that I do not wear a full face of makeup all the time. Regardless of that, the times I have used them, I was really happy with how my face felt. I have been a loyal purchaser of the Neutrogena wipes for years and these wipes are a solid replacement.
The last addition to my collection is the Instant Awakening Trio set. My sole purpose of purchasing this set was because I had wanted to try to eye masks and ended up loving the other products as well. I use the Illuminating Cream every day with the moisturizer and I see a glow to my skin. The Overnight Resurfacing Peel has to be my second favorite product next to the Eye Makeup Remover. I will use it every other night and I feel it working instantly to remove the dull, surface skin cells. The best part is, it does not dry my skin out.
Overall, I am noticing a huge change in my skin and it is for the better. I really needed to get serious about my skin care, now that I have crossed the thirty threshold. I’m also glad I did it at a gradual pace which allowed me to see the effects on my skin as I transitioned to a new product. I have been nothing but happy with the products that I have tried up to this point.
Beautycounter also just launched a men’s line and I already have some products for C in my cart. I have the Exfoliating Cleanser, Toner, Lotion, and Body Wash in my cart for him, along with some products for myself. Below are the products that I have added to my cart.
If you have any questions about the products, please do not hesitate to send me an email or leave a comment below. 🙂 Have you started a clean beauty journey or thinking about trying it? Let me know! I’d love to chat more about it.
